Women carers for women

In order to ferl safe and affirmed women must be avle to request/ require same sex carers.

Why the contribution is important

As a  hrinic pain sufferwr who has had invasuve surgeries I can speak for wimen needing safety and empathy by carers. Post surgery a male  urse was too embarassed abd called for a woman...I was relieved. This affects many of us.

Yes. I agree. We are slowly losing are ability to request safe and culturally appropriate same sex care. Patients (males and females) need to be asked about the preferences so they aren't considered rude or 'uptight' or 'not inclusive' when they request a same sex nurse.

Not when the ward is running short already. Set your preferences aside, and look at how much the health system is in shambles!

A niece is a senior emergency nurse so I know stresses and having spent much time in hospital in icu myself as well as visiting friends in crisis I maintain dignity and comfort and single sex carers are crucial to helping heal.
