Menopause Management

There needs to be designated Woman's Health Cinics where there are specialist practitioners working to support particularly women & menopause. My Dr once said to 'don't talk to me about menpopause as I just glaze over.' It was terrible!
Menopause can have such far reaching effects on women, their Whanau/ their work / their mental health/ socially and their quality of life in general we must address this better please.

Why the contribution is important

Womens well being & this impacts on families, work places, medical & mental health care as well as wider communities.

All GPs should be competent and confident about menopause, including perimenopause, treatments, recent research, etc. The way women have to beg for treatment or become better educated than their GP is appalling. It is also appalling that women have to pay so much out of pocket to get decent treatment for menopause. It is one of the many existing inequities women continue to face in NZ's health system.
