Implement and fund the Dementia Mate Wareware Action Plan

The dementia sector has had input into the creation of an Action Plan that provides a framework for what is required to adequately provide services and care for people living with dementia, their care partners and whanau

As the proportion of older people (over 65) increases, the incidence of dementia will increase. There needs to be services put in place to help keep people living with dementia in the community in their homes for as long as possible to enable them to live their life the best they can and not overwhelm residential care and the health system where care costs are higher.
