Include medical laboratory science within the health workforce strategy

As TEC and Manatū Ora are aware, there is a shortage of qualified medical laboratory scientists. This profession needs to be included in the Health Workforce Strategy.  It is also crucial that TEC, the Ministry of Education and Manatū Ora address the underfunding of this discipline for tertiary education providers.

Tertiary providers need to be able to expand their programmes to be able to meet workforce demand.  To do so will require a funding rate that more accurately reflects the cost of delivery.
